07:04 pm - [Filtered from Milliardo, Dorothy, and Quatre] I'd nearly forgotten how busy Josie's gets this time of year, but I think the first warm day we've had all week has brought them all out today. It feels like spring, but more because of Quatre and the squirrels than anything outside. Mary Ann has asked me to work with her again next year. We talked about Quatre and she agreed with me that he's by far the most talented in her class. She said she was going to recommend him for advanced performance and composition and that was before she heard this year's composition. Things with Milliardo aren't exactly back to normal and I'm not sure I expect them to be, but I think the biggest surprise had nothing to do with me. Wufei has been working at the restaurant most nights and Quatre... We're taking it a day at a time, the two of us. 02:06 pm Professor Certo said he didn't have a problem with the situation as long as he doesn't see it become a problem, but it sounded like he'd be keeping an eye on things at first. It looks like TAing for Theory III will be a lot more work than Theory II even though Mary Ann let me handle most of the class last year. Dorothy, there's a mixed doubles rock and bowl league forming and they have open bowling tonight. Are you interested? Current Mood: calm

10:11 pm I'd forgotten just how overwhelming collegework can be. Maybe I'd become used to the easy life, as easy as it was working. It was a job that didn't work my mind, and that's the difference. I feel as if I need a night out, whether it be to see a movie, or just out for a coffee... at a different place than Josie's. Speaking of Josie's, I was given the job of training a new employee yesterday. He seemed familiar but it took a while for me to place him. He's in the class I TA for, I don't know if he recognised me though. He seemed to pick up on what he had to do pretty quickly, I think he'll do well. I have the night off tonight, I might just see what's playing at the movieplex. I'll be going at 20:00 in case anyone wants to go with me, Milliardo, Wufei... you know where I am. 11:52 pm - Back to school. I was beginning to think that my finances were never going to be back in order enough for me to go back to college. You're supposed to at least be able to make it through college before having to worry about the debt. Bless AJU and its TA option. Any longer out of the course and I would have been forced to be re-entered as a new student. Got drunk on Ginger Ale with Wufei last night, I think things are on the mend, we're getting back to our definition of normal. It may resemble Quasimodo but it works for us. 11:03 pm - Same shit different shovel. Sometimes I wonder if Albert Johnson's standards are falling. The first Union party of the new year was on friday and I've never seen such a, well I guess the word is immature, bunch of students. I'd say that my time at the university has made me grow up a little but I can't honestly remember ever having acted that way. Whipped cream fondants and beer can basketball aside I ended up in the middle of another disagreement with Wufei and Milliardo. Seems Milliardo's younger sister is now a proud student here, and immediately of course Milliardo believed her to be out painting the town red. I can't say I've met the girl but I'm sure she's got more sense than he's giving her credit for. After all, she still came to this school even knowing that her brother was here. Things got a bit heated after that and Wufei ended up walking off. It was fairly obvious that Milliardo wasn't going to listen to reason... he'll come to see it himself eventually, you can't tell him anything, he's one of those people who has to find his own way in life. He still dropped me off at Josie's for work though so he wasn't too upset by us leaving, I hope. He never mentioned his sister, I didn't want to bring it up but I'm hoping that no news is good news, and the fact that he wasn't spitting bullets this morning lends itself to the fact that nothing bad happened. Is it wrong of me to feel jealous of the new freshmen? I did nothing today but watch them browsing the bookshelves. As a university endorsed store there's bound to be more work on offer now that the students are here again but I miss being on that side of the counter. I know it's not forever but even so... Do they know how lucky they are I wonder? Only moment of note in work. I was just about to go on my break when a student came in looking for some 'light reading', something not even on his reading list. It was out of print, and I couldn't even pronounce the title. I did a library search, nothing. I gave him the abebooks.com address and told him to come back and let me know if he ever finds it. The one thing more frustrating than having students ask me to help them find books, is not being able to find what they're looking for. Current Mood: tired Current Music: Marriage of Figaro
